Welcome to Green Mama Monologues!!!
I am Janice. You can call me Ice, for short. I've been blogging since November 2010 over at my main blog, Roller Coaster Ride, which is a family blog chronicling the ups and downs in our blended family of five. I have two daughters, Zoe and Ziya, ages 9 and 8, respectively. I was married to their dad for almost 7 years before we separated. Since then I have met the love of my life, Kai, who is now daddy to our precious baby boy, Ziggy.
Being a mom has certainly changed my life. Gone are the days when I can just pick up and go wherever I want, whenever I want. Now I can't leave the house without thinking about a gazillion other thinks that mostly revolve around my kids. It's no longer just about me. I think about my kids all the time and I worry about their future. I wish that they could live a better life in a better world. Now, the challenge is on how to make that happen.
For the past several years, I have been more careful about my choices - on how to live life, on which products to use and which ones to avoid, on how to teach my kids sustainable living. I have discovered that it's not so easy being green but I believe that it can be done, one step at a time. Of course, I decided to make it more fun by blogging about it, thus the name Green Mama Monologues.
